Too much of femininity discourse is reliant on men to validate how ‘feminine’ a woman is. It’s even more disheartening when I see this type of messaging aligned with Goddesses – with perhaps well-meaning – but distorted women proclaiming they are a ‘Goddess’ solely because “a lot of men are attracted to them.” I used to believe there was some merit to this too, but feminine power comes in our ability to repel just as much as it is to attract. Exclusivity and even being unknown – appearing as a mirage to the uninitiated and completely denying access to men unworthy – is a valid form of feminine power. This form of the Goddess says, “It is not shyness, but a luxury to experience me.”
We can actually attract what we desire faster if we tune into this ability to subconsciously declare NO to what we have no interest in. If we stay stuck in this pattern of people-pleasing and seeking external validation, we stay bound to the lower frequencies of this world. As creators and givers of life, this is the last thing we should be doing. We need to plant the seeds of our highest desires into the Earth and nurture them into form, not just taking any low-hanging, sickly fruit that’s given to us. Every time we take a low-hanging fruit and superficially satisfy ourselves – two more take its place (as we are confirming to nature that this is what is ‘needed’). Our confirmation bias (the Ego) wants proof quickly that we are ‘safe’, and the survival instinct will take anything that is given even if in the long-term, it makes us sick. But we are gifted wisdom which connects us with the divine. Patience in this Great Design will provide all of our needs, and our wildest dreams beyond the basic needs of survival.
A woman is ‘high value’ with or without a man declaring her so. Men cannot initiate women – only she can initiate herself. What high priestess, throughout history, has ever been ‘initiated’ by a man into Wisdom? Does a woman first bleed because a man told her to do so – or is it Nature that initiates a girl into womanhood? Marriage, the highly desired hieros gamos, is the only mystery school a man can truly ‘initiate’ a woman into, (as Man is a Mystery to Woman, and Woman is a Mystery to Man). It is natural to have the desire to be led (or at least probed) by a man intellectually, but spiritually the Wisdom we are truly seeking comes from our own container and direct connection to Source. Not man. There are many mysteries that only you and your ancestors know. Not another woman, either. They are ultimately strangers to you. There is only you – and this is a terrifying realization to sit with. But beyond the terror, there is liberation. When you allow too many people access into your destiny, you risk losing it all. The Mystery is the Mystery for a reason.
In spiritual communities you’ll often find the template of the charismatic male ‘cult leader’ or Messianic figure surrounded by women. They all have the strong innate desire to be led spiritually by this man, but he is not initiated into greater mysteries as he lacks true devotion (and therefore, discipline). He does not have access to the Godhead he speaks of, and his disciples do not have the Wisdom to discern it even if they heard. When their Messiah has his fall from grace, they all flock to another (as they also lack true devotion) and the template is recreated again elsewhere. It’s a scenario of the blind leading the blind. Again — what these women are seeking from Man can only be found in God. It is bound to fail at the very conception of the idea, and all by design as it profanes the Holy Marriage. Since these Messiahs crave the flesh, and it is outside, they lack the awareness of what constitutes the inner marriage with God. The matrix recreates these templates time after time because on some collective level, there is a desire to experience it. What women are looking for in these Messianic golden shadows can be found within ourselves – in the void of the Womb* – where we find unadulterated communion with God. Deep within the womb, behind the veil.
*For those without a physical womb, because we were all born from the womb there is an energetic womb in everyone. Men and trans-women also hold an energetic womb space called the Hara and it is the place in the body where where the “elixir of life” is created. There are ancestral mysteries contained in this womb as well to be meditated upon in silence.
Blessed be the low hanging fruit of temptation, as it gives us the opportunity to recognize God’s Will over the animal instinct. We are led by the Mystery, not by the Ego. When we let go, the possibilities are as infinite and as wide as God. The Ego wants to ‘know’, but it does not know and is only limited by our experiences. Gnosis therefore is the process of surrendering to the mystery, not solely led by knowledge which can also suffocate.
On the other end of the spirituality spectrum, I have found rare spiritual teachers that are so abundantly full of understanding and light, and ironically they do seem to ‘repel’ the masses. Some have even wondered out loud to me if they are on the right path, because they don’t have as much support as the Messianic figures. This reminds me of what I channeled from the Veiled Goddess, “It is a luxury to experience me.” Not a right, but a luxury. Perhaps we are called to not appeal to the masses, but devote ourselves to the few who understand the Mysteries we are venturing into.
Even for myself, I paused writing for a looong time because I felt I could not relate to what I perceived as the collective’s understanding of a “Goddess”, and so I thought there would be no point in me sharing my own understanding as a result. Where I found strength in devoted reservation, other women found it as something stifling. Men also scrutinize this archetype as a woman who is shrewd and can only be ‘liberated’ from the shackles of her own solitude through promiscuity. I now find myself called to bring light to the Veiled Goddess – a form of the ‘dark feminine’ which may not be as sexually appealing or exciting on a surface level, but she is not reliant on the male gaze, or ultimately Union, to come into her power. This is the Eternal Virgin archetype that I was always drawn to, but never fully understood. It is the Mystery I am devoted to.
I think some part of the feminine collective has manifested a desire to match men in sexual conquest, which is where this desire to transform into a carnivorous femme fatale arises from. I think it is a very necessary archetype to keep the balance between the sexes (specifically if they are targeting carnivorous men), but it is not the only role a woman can take. And certainly not one to take if you are seeking a lifelong, love-based marriage. Men have also developed the expectation for women to match them in sexual conquest, which is also harmful in itself. For the Veiled Goddess, conserving the sanctity of her heart and her mind is the most important thing – and engaging in these sort of experiences would shatter her connection to Source. It has nothing to do with men in actuality, and this is where the scrutiny arises. It excludes them, unless they are so close to God they are initiated into the Goddess’ heart. While receiving a lot of male attention may validate the ego, this does nothing for the veiled heart.
Not everyone is called to walk our particular path, or even to understand it. But there is greater value and reward in walking your path fully than walking in the direction everyone else is going. Perhaps they are walking off towards the edge of a cliff, as they do not have the understanding otherwise to change their path.
If you understand, you will be rare and there is no shame in that — only power.
